The Etruscan ceramic technique of "bucchero" has provided the world with treasures since before Christ. To create a luster like appearance, artisans filled kilns with scotch broom flowers and horses hooves. During firing, smoke from these items created a rich, black reflective appearance upon the surface of each piece. VIETRI recreates the stunning look of "bucchero" through a combination of glazes applied to each piece of our Luster Collection before they are fired.
